A session guitarist & rock guitarist

This site is dedicated to the music, bands and songwriting of Andy Galloway - session guitarist and rock guitarist.

Andy plays rock and blues guitar with flair, passion and an effortless ease. In the studio as a session guitarist this results in consistency and accuracy that makes recording sessions quick and efficient. Easy to work with, and capable of listening to producers and sound engineers, he is quick to adapt to what is required. On stage he plays blues rock guitar with passion and empathy and fast classic rock with drive and energy that demands audience reaction.

Beginnings

Andy started his musical carer playing keyboards in the rhythm section of a college swing band, stepping in to fill a vaccancy even though at that time he was far more accomplished as a rock guitarist. Like many exceptional rock guitarists he graduated towards metal music - attracted by its rythmic intensity and the challenges of playing tight, fast, technical music. By sixteen he was lead guitarist in two heavy metal bands and completed over 25 gigs is his first year.

Session Guitarist

Andy started playing guitar sessions and arrange guitar for local singer songwriters on demos and in live sessions. His session work includes work in rock, with Leatherbelly which was fronted by Sean Brosnan; soul, with Connie Bell; and reggae with Fevorous Tea.

 

Composition

Andy is a prolific songwriter and has written songs for most of the bands he has joined, but most noteably, for Acolytes Ruin and Stone Baby.

Stone Baby

Mainly as a result of the complete lack of any record label interest in serious metal music, Andy began to focus his attention on rock music. He assembled a bunch of talented individual musicians to form a rock band as a vehicle for his rock music ideas. Thus was born Stone Baby. Their sound is unique and encompasess the best of rock from the 70s onwards. So far he has written over a twenty songs with Stone Baby.
